Viva la Verve Sketch

I thought this image by Cheri Shull was a great match for Viva La Verve's August sketch as a replacement for the circle element. The flowers are from Angie's Digi Stamps...and obviously turned the sketch sideways.

Memories Floating Along

We will be holding a small memorial for my sister-in-law - instead of a photo-collage board, we opted to have a short video sharing old pictures of Lorraine.  I figure when I can no longer get to Hobby Lobby, I will opt for digital scrapbooking - so decided to use that format for the video.

Today I'm showcasing my first layout - the free template from Rohana Designs.  The list of digital supplies is listed below.  I spent LOTS of time trying to figure out how to add the photos - but now things should go a bit more smoothly.
Yes, the second layout went MUCH quicker.  I'm on a roll now!
A couple pages I'm not happy with - but here is the last page.

Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge #607

Welcome back to my mission to use up scraps I have been pushing aside for years.  I think I've had this embossed patterned paper for more than ten years - just too pretty to throw away, but yet didn't always fit my projects. The flowers - I bought a tin of flowers years ago - those tins just NEVER seem to empty.  I had some spray mist I won - never used.  The sentiment left over from a class I taught probably five years ago. The design was inspired by this week's Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge #607.

The "Brightside" of Being a Grandma

Brightsides is currently the free font available at Font Bundles.  This seemed like a perfect font for a tag I needed for Grandparents' Day.  I used the same image - New Baby - from Ike's Art that I used for my latest Get Creative design.  I am in love with this image!!!!  The background is Drawn Watercolor Art Background from Free Design Files.  I'd like to take credit for the quilled flowers, but they were a gift.  My photo doesn't do this tag justice - these colors are something you have to see in real life!

1 Little, 2 Little, 3 . . .

Hi there!  I'm back this afternoon to share a box card for our local SALSA Tucson Stampers card swap - the theme is 1 Little, 2 Little, 3 . . .  I was a little stumped for ideas - until I visited the gallery of this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers - I was inspired by Donna's lovely Sailor's Hello.

Splitcoast Stampers Sketch + SALSA Mystery Item

Thanks for stopping by. Today I'm sharing my "mystery item" card for SALSA (a local stamp group).  The mystery item was a piece of yellow cellophane.  I used an Elizabeth Crafts bird sticker on top of the cellophane - then used Copic Markers to add additional color from behind...one of the markers I used actually lifted the yellow from the cellophane - resulting in the white you see.

The design is inspired by Sketch Challenge #606 at Splitcoast Stampers.

The SVG file Holly Tag from My Scrap Chick was used to create these tags using scraps from my stash.  I made the tag larger by adding a rectangle from the eClips library and welding it to my tag pieces...then finished the tag off with some sparkling snowflakes (files unknown as I cut a huge container full of snowflakes from different vendors about five years ago and am still using flakes from that stash.
A second project I made is a birthday card for my grandson - a Spongebob fan.  This card is inspired by Paper Ecstasy and uses basic shapes from the eClips library.

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop - here is a list of all bloggers...remember there are prizes at each stop!

Be sure to check back Monday to see if you're the lucky winner of a gift certificate (all prizes must be claimed within 48 hours of posting).

SIZZLIN’ SUMMER ’16 Sketches are here

ss1607
The fuse tool works great to allow you to include more pictures than would normally fit on a 12 x 12 page - as you see in the video below.  The base layout is inspired by Sketch #07 at Scrapbook Challenges...while this layout allows for two photos - my layout includes six photos by adding four extra photos in accordion-fold pockets using the Fuse Tool.
Check out the completed layout in the album using the Fuse Tool:

Fuse Tool Confusion

If you are familiar with the Fuse Tool, you know there is a bit of a learning curve to get the sleeves to "fold" the way you want.  My plan was to show the top photos in an accordion-fold - although I spent a while figuring out where to fuse - I goofed.  Not to worry - I was able to save it efforlessly by instead fusing it to act as flaps.
The video below illustrates how the pockets work made with the Fuse Tool.

Fun in the Sun with Happy Birdie

For the focal point of my card, I used a fun stamped image from Doodle Pantry watercolored with Color Burst - popped up on the card front. I added a fun friendship sentiment. Happy Birdies and good friends - all spells out fun in the sun for me!

Hiding in my Craft Room Challenge #262 - Pastels

Using scraps for your cards can be so convenient - especially when the pile is so large, there is always something right at my fingertips.  Today, I am sharing a quick and simple card using leftover flowers from some other projects, along with some borders left over from a class to make a clean and simple card in pastel turquoise papers for Challenge #262 at Hiding in my Craft Room (Pastels).

Creative Craft Cottage - For the Boys

Check out the fun you can easily achieve by playing with scraps, along with a fun challenge - Creative Craft Cottage (#69 - For the Boys)!  Take an extra image on your craft table - add a fun border left over from another project.  I used scrap papers that match the brightness of my dragon.

Color Burst - Thinking of You

Once I begin with Color Burst, I have a hard time putting it away. Had lots of scraps - and feeling the mojo lately, decided to just starting gluing 'em together (and it looks like it!) The maple leaf stamp was the closest within reach - not a good choice! LOL! You just have no idea what this card went through - and no need to know. But it's funky - not my best work - but will find a place among all my others. :D

Friendship Card with Butterflies

For the focal point of this card, I used a simple sentiment.  To give this simple card extra interest, added some butterflies using Martha Stewart's Classic Butterfly punch - perfect for Challenge #199 at Glitter 'N' Sparkle (butterflies).

Pet Sympathy Card with Baby Digi Paper using Angel Kitties Digital Image

For this card, I used a digital image from Digital Web Studio (Angel Kitties) and Baby Prints digital papers.  To give my background extra interest, I added cat prints using paw prints using Cat Paw Prints.
