Quick, Simple Neebish Card

I promised cards for my Neebish Island family and friends - and could not find my mojo!  Finally, three nautical-themed sheets of cardstock appeared in my scrap stash - and Apex Designs gave this great free anchor yesterday - back to having fun!  Should be able to knock a lot of cards out today.  :D

Fairy Box Card

Here is my design for Get Creative Challenges, sponsored by Nikki Burnette.  Her fairy images are so beautiful!  This week's theme is Bingo!  I chose to go diagonally with Glitter, Printed Paper, and Blue.  I hit the jackpot with all three of these in the dotted blue cardstock - hard to see in the pic, but the dots are glitter embossed!

Be sure to play Bingo with us at Get Creative Challenges!

It's Your Day!

Kit and Clowder is one of my favorite Facebook groups for cardmaking.  The crafters posting are taking coloring classes - and their work is perfect cardmaking!

Kit and Clowder is getting married - for their wedding, Alyce is offering a free coloring class - if you are a beginner colorer, you have to spend an hour playing!

Today I am sharing the card I made for Kit and Clowder - and the first rose I ever completed coloring!  Not too great - but the fact that I didn't give up half way is great!  But notice for the card, I resorted to Color Burst...heck with that shading!

Sketch Challenge Day

Today I'm sharing my love for sketch challenges with Stuck?! Sketches. I turned the sketch on its side - the pics are of my hubby as a baby and teenager.

Sweet Sketch Challenge

Inspired by Sweet Sketch Wednesday - 89, I used some leftover Color Burst scraps.  I thought it would be fun to mix up some different tones.

Our Buccaneer's Turning Two!

I am proud of this card!  I am excited to watch my first grandson turn two years old - his mom is planning an adventurous party with a pirate theme.  The pop-up template is from Robert Sabuda - whom I consider the pop-up king...I first purchased one of his books about ten years before I ever thought of papercrafting.

School Time

Amy Doodle has this cute nerdy image.  Just a simple fun little card made with some leftovers from a class I taught.

Ernie's 80s.

One of my favorite cards is the box card.  It's a great way to celebrate - gives more than the average card.  Here is what I came up with for my cousin's 80th birthday - Ernie's always been handy and spent most of his retirement taking finds apart and making new finds.  There are lots of patterns out their for box cards - I like this particular size because it fits perfectly in Hobby Lobby's vellum envelopes - measures 5-1/2" x 6-1/4" finished folded flat for mailing.  Printable instructions are available in a previous blog post.
This is how the card looks folded flat for mailing

I couldn't resist entering this into the challenge at Moving Along with the Times...their theme is "So 80s."  Okay....I know their interpretation is the 1980s - but my interpretation is Ernie entering the 80s.  I hope they like it.

Get Creative Challenges: Pink + One Other Color

It's always fun - and often a challenge - to design for Get Creative Challenges!  It's a pink theme - plus one other color.  Check out the incredible ideas from all the designers to get those creative juices flower.  Today's sponsor is Sami Stamps.  My card is using "Sweets for Christmas" - in Pink and Green.
