Christmas Poinsettia Card

Hi Friends,

It's inevitable - Christmas is upon us.  Today I created a Christmas card for the Poinsettia challenge at Happy Little Stamper.  I used poinsettias from Tim Holtz . . . and scraps - a little mix of traditional Christmas paper and non-traditional colors.

Day of the Dead

Day of the Dead is two days away . . . week-long festivities in Tucson.  Sounds like the perfect way to remember those that have passed on before us!

Today’s cards are quick and simple. I used images from The Enlightened Elephant.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge from Can You Case It

It's another beautiful Arizona day, and I have another Southwest-themed card for the awesome sketch challenge from Can You Case It #92!  I turned the sketch upside down for my card.
For this second card, I turned the sketch on its side.

Thanks for joining me today for a couple of simple Southwest cards.  Quicky cards using a card base left over from a class long ago - simple sentiment - and Road Runner from Clip Art Hut.

Sending Treats

Today I have more spooky inspiration from Dreaming Tree.  I needed to get a couple treat boxes out of the way - after all, Halloween is one week away!  These "spooky" coffins will be perfect as very special treats for a couple of our neighbor kids - how awesome!  I hope you can tell - one boy and one girl.  I was going to make some cutesy treat holder - but you know three-year-old boys.  He'd probably rather have the cutesie treat.  So I decided fun coffins for both - but girlied up one with pretty rose and green and blue.
Then, while I was on a roll, I decided to make one more for my new neighbor.

Halloween is my favorite time of year for cardmaking - as long as the cards have Halloween colors and emellies, good to go!  Dreaming Tree is amazing with new ideas and patterns.  This free "Spooky Coffin" file is free - what a great way to celebrate Halloween!

Fabulous New Knee

My hubby got a new knee this morning.  This evening he called me from the hospital asking if I was working on his Get Well card.  Well - I wasn't....lol!  But did get to work...pretty tired - so needed something quick and easy!  I couldn't wait to show you what I came up with!

Some little pop-up "surgery" tools inside - and before they take him in to surgery, they mark the spot where surgery is going to happen....thus, my x's and o's.

Sami Stamps Creates Wonderful Images for Getting Creative

I always love the challenge I get designing for Get Creative Challenges.  My fellow designers always have such gorgeous projects.  Today - I'm going simple.  Well, this card actually was not as simple to make as it looks.  But I did want my bird to stand out - so kept the background simple.

This week's sponsor is Sami Stamps.  I am using Valentine Rose Feathers.  That's right - it's a Valentine stamp!  But Valentine Rose is all dressed up for Halloween - I'm sure you didn't even recognize her!  You've got it - Get Creative's theme is Halloween Colors.

Come join in on all the fun at Get Creative Challenges - add your link for a chance to win free digis from Sami Stamps.

Joy of Autumn

Autumn is upon us - so it's an ideal time for scrappin' some of my grandson's autumn adventures - a trip to the zoo and his first camping trip.

Today I am joining The Robin's Nest October Sketch Challenge.  Bev's sketch has fantastic array of embellishments - I substituted fall leaves for her flowers - and decided to use oval photos rather than rectangle.  I know this page will be a true treasure in Adrian's scrapbook.

Quail Power

I'm kicking off the week with a quick-and-easy set of cards.  The quail image is from Clipart Mountain.

Clean-and-Simple Flip-Flop Cards

Happy Saturday, All!

I know winter technically is about two months away, but I wanted to make some cards with my Michigan family and friends in mind - as they had their first snow today.  In the meantime, I am enjoying temps in the low 80s.  So today's cards are just a subtle way of remind them that I can wear my flip flops year round.

Welcome, Dreaming Tree

Today I am using a free file - Spooky Coffin - from the Dreaming Tree.  The Dreaming Tree is a new company - their work so far has a nice masculine touch we don't often see - they have some lantern files that just leaves me in awe.  I cannot wait to see what Leo will do with new files over the coming months!  This coffin was easy to put together and is just the right size for Halloween treats for that special Spook!

Time to use Scraps

Use scraps to create fun cards! Playing with your scraps could bring you hours of crafty fun! These are inspired by Splitcoast Stamper Sketch Challenge #562.

Four Cards using Howling Coyote

Fall is in the air these days - everywhere but here in Sunny Sahuarita!  Yet these harvest-colored, quick and simple Howling Coyote (Adams Acres) cards will work out just great for a masculine gift pak.

Father's Day and Sailboats

Last night I had a little more time to spend at my craft table, so decided to make something with the paper-piecing Sailboat file from Miss Kate Cuttables. It was fun to get away from the traditional nautical colors.

Grandson to Cherish

I have a wonderful layout inspired by Lasting Memories Sketch Challenge.  Design Team Member Tina has a beautiful idea for this wonderful, versatile sketch...here's my take on what she has done.  The photos will be of my grandson playing in the park.

Scrap It with a Song - Relax, Take it Easy!

I have some relaxing cards for you today for the challenge at Scrap It with a Song.  The song is "Relax, Take It Easy" by Mika.

While after re-retiring in November, Relax is my Mode of Operation - I do have many papercrafting responsibilities.  I'm currently working on some Southwest-themed card gift cards.  So I thought this song fit my project fabulously: there is no better place to relax than the Southwest and these cards are clean and simple - all made with scraps.
