Fabulous Wedding and Striking Couple

Yesterday was a most excellent day!  I had the chance to celebrate with cousins Judy and Frank - aka the wedding couple.

Here is my wedding card.  Since this is a second marriage for both, I took a small step away from tradition of elegance and made a funky cell phone with a text screen for their wedding card.  You see, this marriage almost didn't happen because Frank was texting more than calling in the beginning - their first date almost didn't happen!  So I decided to have some fun and remind Judy in her wedding card a little of how their relationship progressed - through texts.

Football Escape

Football is a great season to scrapbook. Temperatures are cooling, schools are in session. It is time to follow the local football team on Friday nights. No matter when you turn on the television, you always have a game to watch.

This Football Escape layout is just right to highlight those times my grandson is rooting for his favorite team.  I wish I could share the layout with his picture - but he is wearing a shirt that says "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME AND STEELERS FOOTBALL."  With Mom from Pittsburgh and Dad from Michigan - I'm looking forward to a picture of him with a Lions shirt for the opposite page.  This collection of football die cuts come from Deviant Art, Sports Business Digest, Clipart Hut, and Little Scraps of Heaven.

The layout was inspired by The Robin's Nest Monthly Challenge. A bit of a stretch from Bev's gorgeous nautical sketch, but I do enjoy it when I have a totally different topic to scrap and am inspired by certain elements - in this case the collection of related items at the bottom.

Green Lizard + Dad

Hello!  I'm here today with my version of Viva la Verve's Sketch.  As mentioned in previous posts, this week's projects are Father's Day cards.  This card is using the Lizard stencil by Dreamweaver.  The sweet message is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

Dad's Cactus

Good Morning, Everyone!

Just wanted to share simple cards I made last night.  Using scraps - and, yes, I'm attempting to get ahead of myself - so this week's projects will be Father's Day.

Robin's Nest Inspires Me

Hello, Everyone

Today I'm here to share with you a layout inspired by The Robin's Nest Sketch Challenge - designed by Bev Code.

I just can't stop loving everything Bev creates!  In this design, I am particularly pleased with how she used very simple mixed media.  I'm always in a hurry to get my projects completed and don't care to take time to pull out mixed media.  But this was an easy sketch to follow - and my muddy paint splashes on the top are just perfect for the images I will add to capture the day my grandson spent playing in water - and later in mud.
I am happy to have finally pulled out my paints - I just might have to pull out the other side to this layout and add some spots and splashes on that to match!

The hearts I used (in lieu of flowers on the sketch) are from Blue Valentine by Digital Creations.  Acrylics paints are used for texture (a Pearlized Medium, Country Tan, and Metallic Yellow Gold).

I'm using some of my favorite papers from Doodlebug Designs, American Craft, Bo Bunny, and Scrapbook Customs.  I'm using these papers as the base for my grandson's entire scrapbook.

Now Bev's inspiration did not get me to pull out the needle and thread!  Instead I used the diamond border that I am using throughout the scrapbook.

Bev had provided me with fun inspiration - thank you, for that, Bev!  I had a great time in my craft room playing with this layout.

Delightful Quail

Okay - I lied.  I found another quail on my desk, so I just had to put him on a card!  I'm excited, though, to have a little mojo back.  Three of the paper patterns are from papers I purchased about eight years ago - and that's why I'm a hoarder!  Today, they just came together for this card.  The card is embellished with a quail from Clipart Mountain and word art from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

One Last Quail

Today I'm pleased to bring you my last quail birthday card - for just a little while.  If you've been following me, you know I've made a few!

This card is inspired by PaperCrafter's Challenge - Magazine Monday #111.  The inspiration is this magazine page.

As you can see, I swapped out the title for a Birthday Sentiment from Brossful Art Designs, and my lady is a quail from Clipart Mountain. Instead of a hat, I changed colors to represent Arizona's hot sun.  Thanks for the inspiration, Papercrafter's!

A Beautiful Quail and Feeling Sketchy

Today I am pleased to bring you another card inspired by Feeling Sketchy challenge #126.  I'm happier with this card - remembered my sentiment - and substituted a quail for the flower.

The quail is clipart from Clipart Mountain.  The sentiment is from Bross Artful Designs.

Sketch Challenge with Feeling Sketchy

Hello, Everyone!

How is your week going? I hope well. August is here in full force - I actually caught myself complaining abo
ut the heat today!

Today I have a card inspired by Feeling Sketchy - Challenge #126.  I got off track after accidentally using a card base with my sentiment inside.  Rather than pulling out the Undo, I kept going and like the simplicity of the quail on circles...so no flower to add.  Will still submit - as I appreciate the inspiration from the challenge.  Note, the quail's body and wing are glittered - they actually are two different colors - doesn't show well in the pic.  :(  The quail is from Clipart Mountain.

The Magic of Nerdy Pencils

I've had a little problem with mojo lately - and needed a fun card for next week's Make-n-Take.  I was finally inspired when I received these Nerdy Pencils in my 2 Cute Ink Newsletter this morning - these pencils just scream out "Paper Piecing!"  How cute are they!!!!!!

Fun Quails and Anything Goes

I am excited to have found another fun quail to use on my cards!  Clipart Mountain has a unique, simple quail - and the colors are unbelievable.  The quail are combined with a cirlce sentiment from Kate's Krafty Korner (minus the cupcake).  This first card was created for the Eureka Stamps Challenge #151 - Anything Goes.
