Thanksgiving Cards

Happy Friday!

Today marks Day 5 of my Thanksgiving Card series for 2015.

I used Miss Kate Cuttables 4 Season Trees on today's cards - and I love how the trees look with different cardstock - Dreamy Papers (Heidi Swapp) and Halloween (Paper Studio).  So fun!

Scrap the Day Away

So are you all enjoying the outrageous weather.  I know my friends in Texas aren't - our thoughts are with you all.  Here we are experiencing temps below normal this year.  Personally, while I am in love with this weather - I still like to stay inside and play - and what better thing to do that some cards using all my scraps!

So Blessed

I just love how this simple card turned out.  Some of the paper is Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs - the other paper is from Paper Studio.  I love the look of Graphic 45's paper - I didn't even worry about covering up any reference to cats or dogs - this amazing paper just blends in.  So, you know - you can use papers for projects other than they were intended.  Enjoy - think of new ways to use theme-specific papers.

Girlie Thanksgiving

I always enjoy simple challenges such as Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge . . . but I also have a list of projects that have to stay on schedule.  So today's schedule is beginning my Thanksgiving cards.  Today's challenge is "Make it Girlie."  Don't usually think of girlie when thinking of Thanksgiving - so went through my digital files to see what I could do.  Found this precious Simply Girl Bear from Kadoodle Bug Designs - perfect!  So here we have very simple Thanksgiving cards with a simply girlie touch.

"Count Your Blessings" is free digital word art from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

Anchors and Neebish

These birthday cards are very easy and fun to make. It helps when you have a great paperpack such as "New Sailor" by DCWV. This is the last pack of cards being made to donate for a fundraiser by the Neebish Island Ladies Group.

New Nautical Inspiration

Hello, Everyone!

I hope you are having an amazing week!  The highlight of my week has been making these nautical cards using DCWV's "Hey, Sailor" paper pack.  The paper is fun and makes for some beautiful cards.  These cards are also being donated to the Neebish Island Ladies Group for their Fundraiser on August 13.

Nautical Layering

Hi, Everyone!

Isn't retirement the best!  The reality of retirement hits me each time I walk into a clean room in my house!  And my frantic schedule to get craft projects done has subsided a bit.  The list goes on and on!

Here is some cards using my most relaxing technique - paper pack, simple embellishments.  These are more cards for the Neebish Island Ladies Group Fundraiser on August 13.

There is a problem with a couple of these cards - wonder how long it will take my sister to point it out.  LOL!

Scrappy Alphabet Animals

Good Evening, All!

Today I wanted to share the beginning of another Animal Alphabet Book I'm currently working on.  I think it's a cool, fairly simple project (albeit time consuming!). With the help of an online coloring book available at Education.com, the pages are generally easy to convert to .svg files.  As you can see, I'm up to the Letter E (the elephant is one of my favorites!).

My second goal is to make the book entirely of scraps!  So sometimes, my colors might end up a bit funky - but scouring through my piles is half the fun!  Amazing how accomplished you feel when you find that one piece of grey you own when you need it for the elephant!

My animals are perfect timing to enter TopTip Tuesday's Animal Challenge.

TIP:  Don't only rely on items intended for papercrafting to make original projects - with an eClips or Silhouette, coloring book pages are easily transformed into great cutting files!

B for Butterfly

It's the perfect project to make for your grandchildren! Bright and cheery - butterflies, lizards and more!

I have started another alphabet book for one of my grandchildren.  Today's letter is B - for Butterfly.  I'm especially happy with my butterfly's wings, as I made the paper pattern using a digital stamp (Digital Creations - Letter to a Symphony).

Perfect time, also, for today's Suzy Bee's Blooming Challenge - Anything Goes with a Twist.  Today's twist - Pink.

Now off to work on a Cat!

Home Sweet Home - Neebish Island

Attention Islanders!  Today I am featuring the first set of cards made for a fundraiser (August 13) on Neebish Island, Michigan - and I'll be back this week with encore greeting cards for Neebish Island.  Islanders can now share home sweet home with all their mainland family and friends.
