Flower Design Element

Hi Everyone,

How is everyone doing on this wet July Saturday?  Yes, even here it's wet!

Today I am featuring a peek at a gift set of cards I made for my cousin.  I wanted to get them made in a hurry (as usual) - but also wanted to test out my new eClips.  I selected a middle-of-the-road doily-like embellishment to be the center point of each card.  I chose this because I knew it was something my Cricut couldn't handle...but I feared using a file any more intricate - did not want to be disappointed the first time out!  I am actually pleasantly surprised...although I used only good-sized embellishments on these cards, I did take this file down to less than 1-1/2" and still got a great cut!  Most of the paper used in this project is from Authentique's Blissful Collection.

Also, all the designs are based from sketches provided by Operation Write Home....these are great when you are in a hurry and want some basic ideas.

I am so excited....next project, UP cards for my sis.  (Lori, have a great idea for showing Neebish Island!)

Have a great week!

Everything That Glitters - Glitter Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the Glitter Blog Hop hosted by Lorby's World. These talented crafters believe a little or a lot of glitter can make any project sparkle, and today they are going to prove it with their creations. Please visit each partic
ipant and leave a little bit of love on their blogs.

Jearise from Lorby's World has a special drawing to go along with today's hop. One lucky winner will win a $10 gift card from Michael's. Just leave a comment on her blog so we know you joined us today. The winner will be announced on Sunday, July 28, so make sure you visit that day to see if you are the lucky winner.
I am delighted to present simple cards (you know me these days - quick & easy!). However, beauty is added to these cards with glitter. Glitter adds a quiet delicacy to every card. The first three cards use Glitter Ritz to jazz up die-cut flowers. For the last card, I used beautiful Glitter Crackle cardstock (The Robin's Nest) for the flower.

As long as we're talking glitter - I am also finishing up 100 wedding invitations for my niece's wedding. All posies were hand cut and glittered! No two invitations alike! :D Here are just a few.

And for more glitter...I purchased a new eClips last week and am enjoying finally being able to cut more intricate embellishments that my Cricut just could not handle. So I am now working on a gift pack of cards with some glittered embellishments.

Yes, I'm pretty much addicted to glitter....with stories to tell.  I did once e-mail my kids to warn them that when I die, do not get all excited about the shiny gold that covers my craft room floor - but then I thought about how much I spend for glitter!  All that glitters in my craft room might as well be gold!

Make sure you visit Lorby's World today. Leave a comment on her blog, and you will be eligible to win a $10 Michael's Gift Card.

Thank you for stopping by today and your next stop is Jamie. Enjoy the Glitter Hop projects. Here is the entire lineup in case you get lost.

Inspired by Stamping - Truly

Today's project is a gift for my cousin graduating from high school.  She is an avid competitor in horse shows and will be attending college for equine pre-vet.  However, as usual, I am always in a hurry to get things done.  When that's the case, I resort to sketches for inspiration.  While looking for sketches this time, I ran across a challenge sponsored by Inspired by Stamping - the challenge being no less than a sketch challenge!  Perfect!  This is my first time visiting Inspired by Stamping, but their blog is full of grand inspiration and fun products.  (I already have my wish list created!)

Here are sketches Inspired by Stamping provided for their July Challenge.

Here are my entries for the Sketch Challenge.  I used papers from Bo Bunny's Serenity Collection.

I added these cards with a slight twist to the original sketches.

These next cards were made using sketches from Operation Write Home before I found ISB's Challenge.

Once again, some quick & easy cards!  Join the fun in the Sketch Challenge.  You can enter at Inspired by Stamping.  You have until August 3!  This is a grand opportunity to win some free product . . . not to mention, the great inspiration from ISB's designers!

SunGO? Anything Goes! (Scraps to Treasures Blog Hop)

Hi Everyone,

Happy Weekend to each one of you.  We are in the midst of enjoying warm weather here....and it sounds like across the country.

This month's Scraps to Treasures theme is "Anything Goes."  I chose to share a card I recently made for my husband to give to a retiring coworker.  My husband works for the Tucson public bus system - affectionately known here as SunTran.  SunTran just started a new payment system they call "SunGO" that is getting quite the attention here in Tucson.  So I thought the "Anything Goes" theme perfect for a SunTran card right about now!  Oh, and SunTran cards are ALWAYS made from scraps....because my hubby comes home from work at 7:30 p.m. and suddenly remembers he needs a card for tomorrow!  So if it can't be made from scraps, it doesn't get made!

I've shared other cards my hubby has asked me to make for coworkers....here are a couple of my favorites from the past.

Patriotic Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the July 13th Patriotic Blog Hop hosted by www.thecricutchirp.com. If you’re just joining the hop, make sure to start back at the beginning HERE. We hope you enjoy hopping along with us as much as we enjoyed putting our projects together for you.

When I had time to make a project for this hop, I wasn't truly inspired. After cruising the Internet and all my favorite magazines...still nothing. So when I am uninspired...and in a hurry....I like to resort to sketches. Today I used a sketch from Operation Write Home (#3) - also used their Any Hero sentiment. Made a pack of simple cards with a simple thank you for Any Hero.

Your next stop is Jennyfer. Here is the entire line up in case you get lost.

Paper Blossoms

Still playing with scraps....hah, working on April.  Will probably be next year before I get to my Graphic 45 Place in Time July papers!
