Elizabeth Craft Designs & Glitter Ritz

Took some time today to play with Elizabeth Craft Designs stickers and Glitter Ritz.  I used the fan stickers (skirts) and bustiere stickers.  I think the "dresses" are awesome...still need to work on their best use as embellishments.  But here are my first attempts.

Festive Friday Blog Hop

It's ridiculuous how much I love this card!  Do you  sometimes finish a card and think...this is just plain goofy!?!?!?  But yet I just love it!  Not sure it really makes a great card...but a fun package tag/ornament.

For this week's Festive Friday card, I wanted to to do something cute...and aren't elves just so cute?!?  But I'm not so good with faces...so I was inspired by Sarah from Pink by Design - just put my own twist on the card.

Card for Greyson

My newest cousin Greyson is on his way...and his mom celebrated with a baby shower Saturday.  Here are some pics of Greyson's nursery...and my version in a card for Greyson!  (My favorite part is that Greyson's room has wainscot paneling on the bottom - I duplicated that effect by scoring the cardstock every 1/4".

What's Cool About Being a Papercrafter?

One of the really great things about being a papercrafter is having papercrafter friends who send handmade birthday cards!  Thanks, Ladies!

It's Tacky - AND I LOVE IT!

We are giving a gift to a couple getting married in Laughlin, and I wanted a unique card.  Found a great tutorial for a pop-up wedding cake by Lisa in her blog Beyond Beauty.  If you visit her blog, she will show a sophisticated card with a beautiful pop-up wedding cake.  She warns that patience is needed to make the cake...and she's right!  She obviously has more patience, as Lisa's is much more professional looking.  But some day I will master this card...

And then, I really did want to make something rather tacky for the occasion...and I did succeed at that!  But it's a fun card!

By the way, the gold hearts are, of course, covered with Piccolo Pure Sparkle Gold Glitter.  You can order this glitter - not to mention all kinds of fun items - from Globecraft Memories - Use Discount Code TS25 to get 25% Off your entire order!

Globecraft Memories Brag Book - Ethan's first couple weeks

The accordion-style Brag Book helps you to capture the best moments of your life, preserve your memories easily, and share them with family and friends.

The Brag Book Kit includes three-layer chipboard book cover, chipboard book back cover, clear 1" deep photo bubble, and decorative display stand.  The album includes high quality cardstock to use as a base for the accordion pages.  Add paper, enamel powders, paint, ink, Piccolo card decor, embellishments, or other items to create a one-of-a-kind display.

For this album that captures the first two weeks of my new nephew's life, I used a textured - almost fabric-like - paper with stitching.  Because the stitching easily unravels once cut, I folded the paper over the edges to secure.  I generally don't do that, but liked the more finished look in the end.  Below are pics of how to fold the paper over - particularly for the frame opening.

Click here to see a video for assembly instructions.  Be sure to add the front cover AFTER you've embellished the pages.

I chose to embellish the pages with simple black-and-white pictures with a bit of green . . . since Ethan's nursery has a "woodsy" theme with birch trees on one wall, I thought green would fit better than traditional baby colors.  Finishing touches included string "pearls" around the frame & front cover edges and Piccolo Card Decor, Accents, and Charms - all covered with 24K Gold Enamel Powder.  Piccolo Embellishments used include

   Vintage Hearts Charm Set
   Card Decor Set #1
   Vintage Holiday Flourishes
   Fabulous Feathers

Here are a few pics showing how Piccolo Decor were used to embellish the Brag Book throughout:

Notice, two hearts from Card Decor Set #1 are in the globe along with Ethan's picture.

Festive Friday Blog Hop

This may be this year's mass-production card.  I love how simple it is...and the way it turned out.  I do think, though...any Christmas card is just that much better with Heartfelt Creations Holly or Poinsettia stamps!

What Will This Be?

8/6/12
Did a little more work on the project last night...my strategy keeps changing...but still excited to see the final product.  Remember...$10 gift card in it for ya!  And the answer has multiple parts!

8/4/12
Had a little bit of time to return to my big project...Here's what I accomplished today...any new guesses?

7/12/12
Okay, I am finally beginning a project I have been talking about for years!  It'll be slow...but I have this vision...and am anxious to see how it plays out myself!  There's a $10 Gift Certificate to AZ Scrapbooking out there for the person who guesses specifically what the end product will be - Let's make this more fun and include my non-scrappin' and non-Arizonan friends - Gift Card to AZ Scrapbooking or Starbucks - your choice!  Here is my first hour of work - What do ya think?

Want a hint, you say?  I actually gave a hint about a month ago on Facebook.  Were you paying attention?

I'll be posting more pictures as I work on my project...but only the first person who guesses wins. Well, are you guessin'?

Southwest Masculine Card - October Salsa

Theme for October Salsa - Masculine.  I'm not all that found of making masculine cards...or making cards with my own photography...but that was my idea.

My ah-hah! moment - I have had a piece of screening sitting in my paper pile for probably six years...and I lay it down often and have yet to really know how to incorporate its texture.  Today I decided no big loss if I ruin it...and embossed it with Piccolo Vintage Copper Enamel Powder.  If you've been to my blog more than once, you know how addicted I am the Vintage Copper!  Another great save for me . . .

Embossed screening on top of grey/blue vellum.

Close up of embossed screening
Love the effect...added a cactus pic from Mount Lemmon...and popped up a cactus die cut also embossed with Vintage Copper Enamel Powder.  Loving the results...now to find more screening!  Needing to mass produce these for my clients.
